The Town of Minden is a beautiful village in the Carson Valley area of Western Nevada that offers breathtaking views in every direction. History
One thing that set Minden apart from the very beginning is the way it actually began. The entire town was mapped out and defined before a single building went up. The seat of Douglas County, Minden was established in 1906 by the Dangberg family. They named the town after Mr. Dangberg’s birthplace, Minden, Germany.
In the 1940s, many Hollywood stars made their way to Minden as a spot to relax and get away from it all. Subdivisions began popping up by the late 1950s, and new businesses were founded in town as well. Since the 1970s, Minden has enjoyed steady growth both commercially and residentially. Although growth continues today, Minden remains a small all-American town, holding tightly to its small-town atmosphere and values.
